Padi Adventure and Advanced Open Water Diver Course
After completing your Open Water Diver Course the next step to take is the Adventure Diver Course, you can do this in 1 day, 3 dives. After this 1 day course, you can then continui with 1 more day to the Advanced Diver Certification or (if deeper diving is not your wish) you can also continui with your Rescue Diver Course (you need to have finished your Compas Navigation to do so). This 2 way path will be new from August 2009 and should promote more people to finish their Rescue Diver Course.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course involves 5 adventure dives in different speciality areas. You must complete a deep dive to 18-30m, a navigation dive and 3 others which you may choose.
After completing this course you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters. We offer a cheap Advanced Course, which includes local diving only and the 5 dives over 2 days and a Comfort Advanced Course, which includes 1 day's diving to Hin Daeng and Hin Muang or the King's Cruiser Wreck (if the weather permits) and 1 dive on Nitrox..

Each of the 5 adventure dives has a short theory section followed by a knowledge review to make sure that you understand what you have learnt, you can choose to do some of this theory online, with Elearning (see below)
The Underwater Navigation Dive and Deep Dive are required for certification. In these dives you learn how to navigate underwater using a compass and natural references, along with the extra considerations needed when diving down to 30m.
The remainging 3 dives can be chosen from the following: Aware Coral Reef Conservation, Search & Recovery, Underwater Naturalist (fish & corals), Fish Identification, NITROX Diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver, Multilevel & Computer Diving, Wreck Diving, Underwater Photography Diver, Underwater Videography Diver and AWARE Sea Turtle.
If you would prefer not to spend time in a classroom on your holiday you may now complete the theory part of the course online in your own time. Please click on the above link to Padi's Elearning Program.
If you do not feel like doing your Deep dive yet or you do not want to go deeper then 18 meter, you can also just start with your Padi Adventure Diver Course (3 dives, whatever Adventure Dive you choose). You can even do your Padi Rescue Diver Course, without going deeper then 18 meter. Before your Padi Dive Master or Padi Master Scuba Diver though, you have to finish by making 2 more dives (ofwhich a deep dive is compulsory) and becoming an Advanced Open Water Diver
