Padi Instructor Development (IDC) Course
Are you a PADI Divemaster?
You’re getting close. Now it’s time to start your PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC). The IDC consists of two sections, the Assistant Instructor (AI) course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program. This structure lets you divide the course into two blocks for schedule convenience if you need to. However, you may prefer to complete the two portions together, going through the entire IDC in a minimum of seven days or longer (to prepare you better).
The first part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the PADI Assistant Instructor course. This course provides you additional experience as a PADI Professional and teaches you the PADI System of diver education.
The Open Water Scuba Instructor program portion of the PADI IDC further hones your leadership and teaching skills to prepare you for life as a PADI Instructor.
After you complete your IDC, you demonstrate what you’ve learned in the Instructor Examination (IE). Here a PADI Instructor Examiner independently and objectively assesses your knowledge and skills, testing everything from dive theory to PADI training standards. PADI is the only certification organization that requires an objective, independent examination to qualify as a professional instructor. This balanced and consistent evaluation process is one of the hallmarks that makes PADI professionals the most demanded and respected instructors in the dive industry.
Our Padi 5 star IDC Center
IDC Preparation
To make you ready and at ease to learn, we have added 3 preparation days, which are FREE OF CHARGE. These days will improve your IDC, you IE, your readiness to learn and will decrease your nerve level. In these 3 days we will use our time for the following important IDC preparations:
* the required administration (please bring all your diving certifications, EFR certifications, a current medical, credit card and your logbook),
* to check out and practise your diving skills (to improve your demonstration quality to that expected by the examinator at your IE),
* to improve your rescue assessment (to improve your demonstration quality to that expected by the examinator at your IE),
* to practise some swimming skills,
* we will assess your theoretical knowledge and identify areas where you need to improve. We will do this through practising exams and giving added presentations about different topics,
* some extra CPR practise.
IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DO THE PREPARATION IN TWO DAYS, YOU CAN USE THE THIRD DAY FOR THE EMERGENCY OXYGEN PROVIDER SPECIALIST INSTRUCTOR COURSE ! This course is available at a small surcharge.

Instructor Development Course
During this Instructor Development Course we will teach you not only how to pass the IE, but through real life exemples we will also show you how it works in real life ! You will see that using the excellent PADI educational materials will make your life as an Instructor easier. Our focus during the course is how to make teaching easy, efficient and of course fun ! You and your fellow students are going to practise on eachother and on our staff. Through practise we learn ! Learn to teach in a relaxed atmospheer (at the beach, on a tropical island, with sunshine and 29 degrees Celcius water temperatures) and from professionals. We offer a longer course, because we want to give you more time to practise.
Different parts of your IDC include:
* knowledge presentations about PADI and the different courses
* practise with and help with Knowledge exams and finding information in your Instructors Manual
* training on your Knowledge Development Presentations and plenty of time to practise them
* training on your Confined Water Presentations, Demonstrations, Skills and Debriefings and plenty of time to practise them
* training on your Open Water Presentations, Rope skills, Skills and Debriefings and plenty of time to practise them
* Rescue Assessment practise
* Nitrox Specialty Instructors Course.

PADI IE - Instructor Examination
The IE (Instructor Examination) will give you a chance to show what you have learned during your IDC. Professional examinators from PADI are flying all the way over to Thailand to see how well you are doing as an Instructor. They are not coming over to fail students (these are nice people). The only person that can fail him/herself is you. So make sure you prepare well during the IDC Preparation Days and let us guide you to the Instructors World !
To be able to go to the IE, you have to succesfully finish the IDC. The PADI Instructor Examination Fee is 695 AUS$. This amount is not included in our prices and has to be paid seperately to PADI by credit card (no cash payments possible).
We provide a succesful IDC to IE pass, which means if you succesfully pass our IDC and have a mental block at your first IE, we will pay your second IE (have to wait for 5 days at least) and train you to be sure you are ready.
